"Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people,
even for salvation with thine anointed;..." Habakkuk 3:13
What a beautiful picture of our God, of Jesus Christ!
Valiantly coming as Savior. Redeemer.

Amen! Thanks for sharing, Amanda!
"Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish."
~ Proverbs 12:1
This week, I've been doing a word study on "knowledge" and the Lord really spoke to me through this verse. Do I show a love for knowledge by loving those who reprove and instruct me or do I bristle when corrected? Ouch!!
Okay, I'm gonna start out by saying the verse I'm sharing today is going to be taken out of context. :-)
John 14:8
"Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father and it sufficeth us."
The context here is that Philip still wasn't getting the picture, that Jesus Christ the Son, and God the Father are one. I'll include the next verse to put it in context
John 14:9
"Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"
Anyway, back to my original though. I was doing a little word study on contentment today in my devotions and one of the other words included was "sufficeth" so in coming across this verse all by itself, without the context of the other verses, I just had to stop and think a minute. If our attitude only were one of "Just shew me the Father, Who He is, His attributes, that I may KNOW HIM." This is a lesson the Lord brought to my attention just a few days ago, and has been reminding me of it since then. Most of the time my prayer has been, " Lord, shew me Your will"... which is not a bad thing, but why not "Lord, just reveal Yourself to me." I'll close with this verse.
Phil. 3:10 "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"
@ Kenzi,
Good verse! That is a thought that God has brought to surface in my life recently as well...

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30
@ Janell,
Amen! That is so true...and also something that the Lord's been bringing to my attention. Do we want Him or what He can offer us?
