"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all
flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass
withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord
endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto
you." (1 Peter 1:23-25)
Reasons the believers should love God's Word:
- we are born
again by the Word
- God's Word
abides forever
- the Gospel is
preached by God's Word
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word,
that ye may grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2)

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for this powerful passage of Scripture that you shared!
My verse for today is
II Corinthians 6:1
"We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain."
This verse kinda goes along with the one you shared. When we are born again, and receive the grace of God, there is to be a change in us. At salvation we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and when we read God's Word, He works in our heart and transforms us. Yet if we make the choice to rebel or go against the things that are revealed to us, it is if the grace of God did nothing in our lives, and we received it in vain.
Lord, help us ever to remember from what we've been saved and live as unto You.
Thank you for sharing, Amanda! Few things fill me with peace than knowing that God's Word is incorruptible and that it will abide so forever!!!
"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." Proverbs 30:5
" I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing." ~ Psalm 34:1-3 & 8-10
How do you express yourself when you look around at the life God has given you (through no merit of your own!) and see the goodness of tasting to see that the Lord is good? God has showered so many good things (both small and great) on you that you lack none. You lift up your head from the common, daily tasks and duties of life and find yourself blinded by the beauty of God's blessings. How do you even begin to thank Him for all those gifts? Yes, there are daily problems and cares that come, but they pale against the multitude of God's goodness to His children!! "Blessed is the man that trusts in Him."

@ Janell,
I'm not sure that I ever pulled 2 Corinthians 6:1 out and just looked at it individually. Wow . . . thanks for sharing! May His work in us not be in vain!
By God's grace,
Amanda
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world . . ." 1 John 2:15
@ Kenzi,
Amen. I love verses about the everlasting Word of God!
Psalm 34 is one of those Psalms that I just read and fall in love with every time! What a good reminder to stop and reflect on the blessings of God. Thanks for sharing!
By God's grace,
Amanda
