One of my friends sent me a picture of a sunset (she knows my weakness!) and the words to this post title came to my mind. I don't know why I love sunsets so much, but I do. I could be elaborate about the beauty God paints in the sky every evening, but I think that someone else has already penned amazing words:
"The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language,
where their voice is not heard."
Psalm 19:1-3
As I pondered it last night, I began to think of some special things for the end of the day.
~At the end of the day,
I am assured that God's mercies are new tomorrow.
~At the end of the day,
I can look back and see evidence of God's hand at work in my life.
~At the end of the day,
I can pause and thank God for all He has done and will continue to do.

Why is the end of the day - the sunset - special to you?

Amen! Well said! I love that Psalm!
And the sunset is beautiful!!
Psalm 105:25
"Of old thou hast laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens are the work of thy hands."
Thanks Julia! And thanks for the Psalm you shared as well - very applicable!

I loved your post Amanda, especially how you summarized things you can be confident in at the end of the day. The Lord is faithful. I love sunsets too, and I am blessed to get to see beautiful sunsets everyday where I live. I will send you some recent pictures.
Psalm 19:1,2 is dear to my heart also.
I love sunsets because I think of them as God's gift of beauty (in nature) to me. Like he is sending me an artwork from heaven displayed for me to see and enjoy!
Aw, thanks Rebekah! And I look forward to seeing your pictures!! :) Where we just moved, we can see more of the sunsets than down in Louisiana (tall pines!), but my absolute favorite sunsets are in Colorado - you can see for miles! Unfortunately, from our last trip up there, I don't know which pictures are mine and which are my brother's, so I didn't edit those (granted, all the good ones are my brother's pics! :)).
That's a beautiful thought: "God's gift of beauty to me." I almost feel the same way. Thankfully, we can all share God's gifts! ;)

I'd love to see pictures of the sunsets in Colorado, and pictures of the trip you took there if you have any to share! Maybe you can make a post about your trip on the blog (or if not, email me :D).
Two of my sisters are into photography, so most of the pictures we have are made by them just like you said your brother does. But I like to think that I give them good artistic ideas of which angle to take the picture etc when we are out traveling somewhere ;)
yes, it is a joy to be able to share God's gifts together!
Rebekah,
I'm working on getting a Colorado post for our family blog (www.terofamilyministries.com - which is down as we're adjusting some things with the web server), but that's an idea to put it here. I'll think about it! :)
Artistic angles are definitely my weakness. :) I don't have a natural "eye" so have to work at it. BTW, you can check out my brother's website: danielterophotography.com
