Word Wednesday #62

"Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;" Romans 15:30

Those praying are no less in the battle than those preaching. We should never underestimate the power of praying for those in duty.

Amanda, thanks for this verse. A lot of these verses on prayer, and praying for one another have really been standing out to me recently.

II Thessalonians 1:11,12
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I want the Lord to fulfill the good pleasure of His goodness in me, and I desire for Him to be glorified through me. Daily surrender to the Holy Spirit.

Very true. This reminded me of the passage where Jesus said even those who serve the prophet will have a prophet's reward. Thanks for sharing, Amanda!

"Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments...
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies." ~ Psalm 112:1,7-8

In a day when we often hear evil tidings, it encouraged me to read how God has given a way for us to not be cast down by those tidings. Fearing the LORD, delighting in His commandments and fixing our hearts to trust Him is our solid anchor against the storms of this world.
