About Me

It is always fun to see a little glimpse of the person behind the blog . . . so here is a glimpse into my life.

I am Amanda. By the grace of God, I am a born-again believer, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. As a young child, I attended a sign language class one of the ladies in our church did. One day, she asked all of the children who were saved to raise their hands. I was not one of them, so afterwards, she asked me to talk to my parents about salvation. I went to Dad and Mom that night and asked them what I needed to do to be saved, but I clearly did not understand what they were saying. I was only following the lady’s request in talking with my parents. Later, when I was around seven, Mom had us doing daily personal devotions. As I read about the people who had strayed from God, my thoughts were “They need to be saved.” I remember writing that down as my thoughts on the chapter for several days. One day, God opened my eyes and I realized, that it was not “They need to be saved;” it was, “I need to be saved!” That night, I talked to Mom about my need for Christ, and she thoroughly explained the Gospel to me. I understood it that time, and accepted Christ as my Savior. A few months later, I was baptized as a symbol of what Christ did in my heart.

I was very blessed to have been homeschooled my entire life by my Mom, with the support of my Dad.

Currently, I am still living at home with my parents, striving to follow God each day of my life.

Some Things That I Enjoy:
The Lord has given me so many blessings and gifts! I have found it impossible to count them all! One of those blessings is the ability to enjoy a lot. My list is continually changing and growing, but here it is in general:

~My amazing family (www.TeroFamilyMinistries.com)

~Music in many shapes and sizes (piano, violin, singing with my family, teaching, arranging hymns, working on With a Joyful Noise)

~Photography

~Writing (articles, Bible studies, short stories, novels)
Incorruptible Beauty, Word Painters, Rubies Like Ruth

~Graphics Design (through my writing website)

  1. I would like to say I happily stumbled across your happy little blog, but I know better. Jesus guided me here. It's not just a blessing, or an encouragement, but a refreshing heaven sent gift. I would especially like to thank you for the use of the God's Holy Word as He gave to the English speaking people, in the King James Version. Thank you for standing tall and respecting the sovereignty of His word.
God bless you Dear Sister in Christ, Love Abigail A.

  9. Amanda,

I found your books by reading "Willowy Whisper's" book review...and I'm so glad I did!! I have really been blessed and encouraged through your books! I just got done reading "Journey to Love" and what an incredible story! The way you clearly presented the gospel through the whole thing was amazing and very well done. I don't find many books that I don't have one problem with...but I've certainly found one now! Thank you for honoring the Lord with the talent He has given you!

    In Christ,
    ~Megan~

P.S. I LOVE when an author gives an epilogue at the end telling about what happened to the person after the ending of the story. I was really hoping Marie and Mark would end up married.. Thanks for making that happen! :)

  10. Megan,

Thank you so very much for stopping by and encouraging me today! Wow! I am so humbled at your appreciation for "Journey to Love!" God has been very good in helping me to tune my pen to His direction!

And I'm glad you liked the epilogue. ;) :)

    By God's grace,
    Amanda

  13. Amanda,
I know exactly how you feel right now about Louisiana. About a month ago, terrible flooding hit West Virginia. Many people died and the aftermath is horrendous. There are still people without homes and Samartines Purse is still here trying to help clean up.
Praying the Lord allows the flood waters to recede quickly.

  14. Megan - thank you so much! The flooding is still going on and the aftermath will be hard, as several cities are, for the most part, destroyed. Thanks for the prayers!

  16. I'm loving your blog so far! :) Several of the blogs I follow recommended yours, but I'm just now getting around to looking at it! I guess I should have sooner. ;) It sounds like we have a lot in common: a love for music and photography, and a big family (although I only have five siblings). I'm going to keep browsing for awhile, if you don't mind... :)

  17. Hello!
Someone recommended your blog/website, and I really like what I've seen so far. It seems we have a lot in common- writing, music, big families, etc. Although you have more of a knack for graphic design than I do. :P Anyway, would you be interested in doing an ebook giveaway with a few other young authors next month? If you think you might want to, I can send you some details.
In the meantime, I need to read some more posts on here.
    Have a lovely Thanksgiving week!

Hannah - Thanks so much! Does sound like a lot of common interests! I'd like to hear a few more details on your eBook giveaway deal. :) Feel free to email me at amandaterobooks@gmail.com.
    Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Thank you for taking the time to give me a little comment - they always brighten my day. :) I usually stop by and reply to as many comments as I can, but sometimes it takes me a week or so.
