It is our own foolishness that maekes our way twisted and has “hard feelings” against the Lord. Too often, even believers blame God for the feelings of their heart, or they blame satan—but it is man himself.
Not all instruction out there lines up with God’s Word. There are many foolish men and women who have a voice in this world, which is why we must know the words of knowledge for ourselves.
The word “chosen” stood out to me. It is not that some people happen to have a good name or loving favor—we all have a choice how we behave. But many people choose something that fades away—like gold and silver—over godly character.
Which verse about wisdom vs. foolishness have you read recently?
Wow! All of these were good but my favorite was the last one. Just what I needed for today.
ReplyDeletePsalm 14:1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
ReplyDeleteNo interpretation needed. Sad that there are so many.
These are really good! I love Prov. 21:21 and that first one--Proverbs 19:3. These are all great reminders! Thanks for posting these. A verse that hit me on Saturday evening, was 1 Peter 3:18: "For Christ died once for sins, THE RIGHTEOUS FOR THE UNRIGHTEOUS, to bring you to God (my emphasis)." I don't know if ever you feel like you're 'doing pretty good' as a Christian, but a lot of times we need humbling from that, no? It's just a good and humbling reminder to read these words, that Christ, the only One who was ever perfectly righteous, died for US, the UNrighteous. We are NoT on an even plane with God, nor will we ever be, even though, for Believers, we are forgiven by Him and enabled to have a relationship with Him.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week and are enjoying your little nephew!!
@ Ryana - it greatly blesses me to hear when God uses a verse to encourage someone else! <3
