Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; Luke 3:5
Christ is greater than the lifestyles of men to where He can straighten no matter how crooked it was and He can smooth out, no matter how rough it was.

Well, I'm very late in joining in here, but better late than never, right? :)Thanks for the verse you shared, Amanda!
ReplyDeleteWhen I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. ~ Ezekiel 33:13
There is one phase in this verse that just jumped out at me when I read it: "...if he trust in his own righteousness..." 1 Corinthians 10:12 instantly came to mind "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." The more "good, clean" people I see fall into iniquity, the more the Lord impresses me how dangerous trusting in our righteousness. Only the righteousness of Christ is holy enough to trust in and it's only that righteousness that can keep us in the hour of temptation.

ReplyDeleteI'll take your comments late, no problem! :)
There is nothing more to add to your thoughts than a heart AMEN! May the Lord help us all to stay humble before Him!!!
