"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;" Eph. 6:14
This verse has really stood out to me recently, particularly the first part of it, "having your loins girt about with truth". The key principle of that statement is that we have to know what TRUTH is if we're going to gird ourselves with it, and the only way we can find out truth is by studying the Word of God!!! What an amazing and challenging concept!
Thank you for sharing these verses, Amanda! Verses about God's guidance and leading are always an encouragement to me!
" He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." Romans 4:20-25
Like Abraham, the bases of our relationship with God must rest on faith alone. Believing God will not lie and being fully persuaded that what He has promised He is able also to perform. Herein lies our righteousness, and herein lies our rest.
"Just to rest upon his promise. Just to know, thus saith the Lord."
I recently heard this verse used at Camp Christa, when Bro. Aaron was challenging the young people with, "What is Your Standard for Truth?" How very, very vital that our standard is God's standard! Thanks for sharing and challenging us!

"Sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy Word is truth." John 17:17
Romans 4:20 really stood out to me a few months ago when I was reading it. It gives a sobering comparison: staggering with unbelief or strong in faith (and more than that - glorifying God!).
Amen. Thanks for sharing!
(and as a side-note, "'Tis so Sweet" is probably my top favorite hymn right now - the very last phrase of the chorus stood out to me last night while we were singing it, "Oh for GRACE to TRUST Him more." How much we need His grace and help - even to trust Him!)

Thank you for stopping by! I pray that you have found something that encourages you today. Thank you for taking the time to give me a little comment - they always brighten my day. :) I usually stop by and reply to as many comments as I can, but sometimes it takes me a week or so. But if you asked a question, be sure to check back!
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
