  1. Thank you, Amanda! Those are wonderful verses and so true about the things to praise the Lord for. :) Oh, we have MANY things to praise Him for!!

This verse stood out to me in my Bible reading today:
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest." - Joshua 1:9

It was a beautiful reminder that God is always with us.

And the memory verse for this week:
"A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!" - Proverbs 15:23

What we do, say, or think can either bring us joy or grief. And when we speak a word in due season - whether it's a bit of encouragement, a loving word, etc. - "how good is it!"

    Love you!

  2. Thanks for sharing these verses, Amanda, and thank you for bringing out the five reasons those psalms give us for praising the Lord!!

"They speak vanity every one with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
    Psalm 12:2-4 & 6-7

What a contrast between the words of God and the words of Man!
Man's words are swollen with vanity, flattery and arrogance, whereas God's words are pure, tried and providently preserved from generation to generation.
So in whose words do I daily choose to trust? Does my life testify of obedience to God's words or Man's?

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
