Verses 43/44 of 52!!!

I have been continuing my memory of Romans 8, by God's help.

Romans 8:5-9
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

This passage makes us pose the question: am I in God's Spirit, or in the flesh? Am I born-again, or am I simply living life how I see fit?

  1. Wow! Are you memorizing all of Romans?

  2. Hello JoyfullyHis!

I would like to one day have the whole book of Romans memorized. Right now, I am memorizing chapters and verses rather sporadically and am very far away from having the whole book by heart. At times, it is rather difficult and I know that I can only accomplish this goal by God's help and grace! Romans has been a book that has spoken a lot to me, and the more I read it and memorize it, the more God uses it to guide me and help me.

Thank you for sharing about your giveaway. I'll look into it.

    Thanks for your comment.

  3. Great job! This year there are several things that I have learned that has changed my life. One is being thankful (as we've be discussing!) and the other is memorizing scriptures. I am so glad you are setting such a high goal! With God's help you will be able to memorize Romans and many other passages. There are some young people who are able to memorize a chapter a day, so I encourage you not to give up! I am constantly amazed at how more powerful the scriptures seem now that I am meditating and memorizing scriptures. Everyday I feel like writing down my thanks for the Word of God! : ) (But I don't think that's the way this challenge goes!)

  4. Jennifer,

Ah yes, it is ONLY by God's help that I can continue memorizing. I am not one of those "memorize a chapter a day" types of people. If I really work on it, I can definitely memorize one verse a day, but sadly, I am often too lazy to even to that.

Amen - every day I DO want to write down, "I am thankful for God's Word!!" I have found several duplicates as I go along with the thankfulness challenge. :)

Thank you for taking the time to give me a little comment - they always brighten my day. :) I usually stop by and reply to as many comments as I can, but sometimes it takes me a week or so. But if you asked a question, be sure to check back!
